Whenever I look at this photo I experience the high of travel, of going some place different. Different from my everyday existence in my hometown. It’s an escape. This photo is from my first trip to Europe in 1978. Since then I have been back many times and have traveled to about 50 countries. But this first trip was my great escape.

Harry Wilson is a retired professor of Art at Bakersfield College. His photographs have been exhibited and published widely, specializing in unpublished books. In fact, he has been on the brink of a brilliant career for 50 years.
